Software: Group Policy Corruption

Summary

Possible solution/work around for client side Group Policy corruption

Body

  1. Log into system with admin credentials.
  2. Go to "C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine"
    1. You will have to change the view in file explorer to show hidden files and folders.  The "Group Policy" folder is normally hidden.
  3. Rename the "Registry.pol" file to "Registry.pol.old"
  4. Open up a command line interface and run command gpupdate /force
  5. You should see a new "Registry.pol" file appear in "C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine"
  6. Test if corruption is fixed.
