Log-in Procedures for Cedarville University

Summary

In May 2021, Cedarville enhanced their security measures. Information Technology implemented a new login procedure in May, 2021. This article walks through the new login procedure along with the authentication steps within the Microsoft Security Server.

Below you will find instructions on how to log into common Cedarville online resources. Students, parents, faculty, and staff will all follow the steps below to log into their accounts.

Log into Your Cedarville Account

Once you get to the login screens for any of these online resources, follow the steps below:

  1. Type in your username@cedarville.edu, and click “Next.”
  • Note: If you only have a username, type that in and add @cedarville.edu. Students, faculty/staff, parents, and alumni are required to login with their username@cedarville.edu in order to access their accounts. Even if they do not have an @cedarville.edu email address, each user should login with their username followed by @cedarville.edu.

2. Type in CedarNet Password again and click “Sign in.” 

One-time Verification

After signing in with your Cedarville username and password, you will be prompted with a screen saying "more information required." Follow the steps below to continue:

  1. Once you reach the screen asking for “More Information Required”, Click “Next.”

  1. In order to help you gain access to your account if you lose your password or get locked out, you'll be asked to set up or confirm a personal email address or phone number.

  1. Enter in your phone number or an alternate email and choose “text me” or “email me.”

 

  1. You will receive a 6-digit verification code. Type that in the space provided.

  2. Click ”Verify.

 

10. Click "Finish"

 

         11. Select "No" if asked to authorize the connection to access Canvas. 

         12. Check the box "Do not show me this message again.

 

  1. You will be able to log into your Cedarville account or our website.  You may need to Select "Sign In" one more time.

 

 

 

Multiple Microsoft Accounts

Many students and parents have pre-existing Microsoft accounts through work or school. If this is the case, ensure you log out completely before logging in with your Cedarville accounts. 

If you experience any difficulties with any of these steps or are unable to authenticate to your Cedarville account, contact the IT Help Desk at 937-766-7905 or submit an IT service request at Cedarville.edu/ServeCU.
