Summary

This article will help you use tech carts in a variety of ENS classrooms.

To turn the ceiling mounted projector on:

  • Press the POWER ON button. The image will appear in about 60 seconds.

 

To show the laptop image:

  1. Attach your laptop to the provided HDMI cable, and then press the HDMI (6) button.
  2. Check your laptop resolution to make sure it is 1280x800. If the image does not appear, press FN + F? (e.g., Fn + F8) on the laptop to toggle the laptop video card output.

Note: To adjust the volume, press the VOL + or VOL - button. The volume only works if the
projector is on.         

 

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

 

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the AV MUTE button.
  2. To display the image, press the AV MUTE button again.

 

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices, videotapes and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Press the POWER OFF button twice.

ENS 106

To turn the ceiling mounted projector on:

  • Press the POWER ON button on the projector remote.

To show tech cart image:

  • Power on computer and if it is not already on it make sure the 1 input is selected on the extron switch.

To show the laptop image:

  1. Attach your laptop to the provided HDMI cable, and then press the 2 button under inputs on the extron switch.
  2. Check your laptop resolution to make sure it is 1280x800. If the image does not appear, press FN + F? (e.g., Fn + F8) on the laptop to toggle the laptop video card output.

Note: To adjust the volume, either use your desktop or laptop depending on what you are using.

 

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the AV MUTE button on the remote.
  2. To display the image, press the AV MUTE button again.

 

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices, videotapes and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Press the POWER OFF button twice on the remote.

ENS 141

To turn the ceiling mounted projector on:

  • Press the POWER ON button on the projector remote.

To show the computer screen:

  • Turn on computer 48479(The third table when walking in closest to the projector screen)
  • Select input 1 on the extron switch in the desk beneath the computer.

To show the laptop image:

  • Attach your laptop to the HDMI cable beside the computer.
  • Select input 2 on the extron switch.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the AV MUTE button on the projector remote.
  2. To display the image, press the AV MUTE button again.

When you are done:

  1. Press the POWER OFF button twice on the projector remote.

To adjust the volume:

  • Adjust your laptop volume.

ENS 142

To turn the ceiling mounted projector on:

  • Press the POWER ON button on the projector remote.

To show the laptop image:

  • Attach your laptop to the HDMI cable on the second closest table to the projector screen.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the AV MUTE button on the projector remote.
  2. To display the image, press the AV MUTE button again.

When you are done:

  1. Press the POWER OFF button twice on the projector remote.

To adjust the volume:

  • Adjust your laptop or the computer volume.

ENS 118

To turn on display:

  • Select the DISPLAY ON button on the panel beside the tech cart.

Note: You can adjust volume using the knob on the panel

To connect the tech cart PC to the display:

  • Select PC on the panel beside the tech cart

To connect a laptop to the display:

  1. Connect the laptop to an HDMI cable in one of the ports below the control panel.
  2. Select either LAPTOP or LAPTOP 2 on the panel depending on which the HDMI cable is plugged into.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To mute the video:

  • Select the MUTE button that is on the panel.
  • Select it again to unmute it.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices, videotapes and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Press the DISPLAY OFF button

ENS 145

To turn the ceiling mounted projector on:

  • Press the POWER ON button on the projector remote.

To show the computer image:

  • Press the COMPUTER button.

Note: To adjust the volume, use volume controls on computer

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To black-out the screen:

ENS 151

To turn the ceiling mounted projector on:

  • Press the DISPLAY ON button. The image will appear in about 15 seconds.

To show the tech cart computer image:

  • Press the PC button.

Note: To adjust the volume, turn the volume knob on the touch panel left and right

To show the laptop image:

  • Attach your laptop to one of the cables provided, press the LAPTOP button, then press the button corresponding to the cable you used.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To show the document camera:

  • Press the power button on the document camera, and then press the DOC CAM button.

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the MUTE button.
  2. To return to the image, press the MUTE button again.

To play audio with the projector off:

  1. Press either the PC or LAPTOP button. 
  2. Play your audio.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Press the DISPLAY OFF button.

ENS 181

To turn on display:

  • Press the power button on the TV remote or on the TV itself under the LG symbol.

To connect tech cart computer to display:

  • Turn on computer and select HDMI 2 input on the remote.

To connect personal device to display:

  1. Connect whatever device you wish to display to the HDMI cable in the middle of the table.
  2. Select HDMI 1 input on the remote.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Turn off the display.

ENS 205

To turn the ceiling mounted projector on:

  • Press the DISPLAY ON button. The image will appear in about 15 seconds.

To show the laptop image:

  • Attach your laptop to one of the cables provided, press the LAPTOP button

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To show a DVD video:

  1. Put the DVD in the PC disk drive
  2. On the tech cart PC, go to the Start Menu, then click File Explorer. Alternatively, search for “This PC” in the search bar.
  3. Double click the DVD drive

Note: Use the arrow keys to navigate menus.

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the MUTE button under display.
  2. To return to the image, press the MUTE button again. 

To use the document camera(If in room):

  1. Press the power button on the document camera.
  2. Start the corresponding desktop application 

To mute audio:

  1. Press the MUTE button under volume
  2. To return the audio press the MUTE button again.

To play audio with the projector off:

  1. Press either the PC or LAPTOP button. 
  2. Play your audio.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Press the DISPLAY OFF button.

ENS 206

To show a DVD video:

  1. Put the DVD in the PC disk drive
  2. On the tech cart PC, go to the Start Menu, then click File Explorer. Alternatively, search for “This PC” in the search bar.
  3. Double click the DVD drive

Note: Use the arrow keys to navigate menus.

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the MUTE button under display.
  2. To return to the image, press the MUTE button again. 

To mute audio:

  1. Press the MUTE button under volume
  2. To return the audio press the MUTE button again.

To play audio with the projector off:

  1. Press either the PC or LAPTOP button. 
  2. Play your audio.

To use the document camera(If in room):

  1. Press the power button on the document camera.
  2. Start the corresponding desktop application 

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices and discs from their appropriate places.

ENS 210

To turn the ceiling mounted projector on:

  • Press the DISPLAY ON button on the touch panel.

To show the tech cart computer image:

  •  Press PC on the touch panel.

Note: To adjust the volume, turn the volume knob.

To show the laptop image:

  1. Attach the HDMI cable to your laptop.
  2. Select LAPTOP on the touch panel 

Note: To adjust the volume, press the up and down arrows on the right side of the touch screen.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To use the document camera:

  1. Turn on the document camera.
  2. Press the DOC CAM button on the touch panel.

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the DISPLAY MUTE button on the touch panel.
  2. To return to the image, press the DISPLAY MUTE button again.

To use the lapel microphone:

  • To turn on the microphone, press and hold the MUTE button on top. A green light will come on.
  • To control the microphone volume, adjust the master volume.
  • To mute the microphone tap the MUTE button on top. The green light will change to amber.
  • To unmute the microphone, tap the MUTE button on top. The amber light will change to green.
  • To turn off the microphone, press and hold the MUTE button on top.
  • Note: If the microphone isn’t working, replace the batteries. The microphone volume is linked to the master volume.

To play audio with the projector off:

  1. Press either PC or LAPTOP on the touch panel.
  2. Play your audio.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices, videotapes and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Press the DISPLAY OFF button

ENS 214

To turn on the display:

  1. Press the power button on the tv remote or on the tv itself.
  2. Wait 15-30 seconds
  3. PC should automatically connect to the tv.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To use the Ladibug document camera:

  1. Power on the document camera.
  2. Click on the Ladibug icon on the desktop.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices, videotapes and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Power off the tv.

ENS 218

To turn on the display:

  1. Press the power button on the tv remote.
  2. Wait 15-30 seconds

To turn on displays:

To connect the doc cam to the displays:

  1. Make sure the doc cam is turned on.
  2. Select the DOC CAM button on the panel beside the tech cart.

To mute the video:

  • Select the MUTE button that is on the panel.
  • Select it again to unmute it.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices, videotapes and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Press the DISPLAY OFF button

ENS 226

To turn on the TV:

  • Press the power button on the tv(Furthest button down on the right bezel)

To connect a laptop:

  • Connect HDMI cable to laptop.
  • TV should automatically connect.
  • If the TV does not then cycle through the three HDMI sources by pressing the button directly above the TV power button.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

When you are done:

  1. Disconnect whatever devices you have connected to the TV
  2. Power off the TV

To turn on display:

    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To mute the Audio:

  • Select the MUTE button on the remote.
  • Select it again to unmute it.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices, videotapes and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Turn off display.

ENS 241

To turn the wall mounted monitor on:

  • Press the DISPLAY ON button. The image will appear in about 15 seconds.

To show the tech cart computer image:

  • Press the PC button.
  • Log in to the computer

Note: To adjust the volume, use the up and down arrows on the touch screen under volume.

To show the laptop image:

  • Attach your laptop to one of the cables provided, press the LAPTOP button.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

When you are done:

ENS 242

To turn a wall mounted monitor on:

  • On the LG remote control: press the red power button. The image will appear in about 15 seconds.
  • OR hit the power button on the underside of the TV's center.

To show the laptop image:

  • Attach your laptop to one of the cables provided, it should appear in a few seconds. If it does not, use the remote's input button (the cable looking one) to select HDMI 1. 

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

When you are done:

  1. Disconnect your laptop from the HDMI cable.
  2. Turn off the TV with the remote control's power button OR press and then press again and hold the power button on the underside of the center of the TV.

ENS 243

To turn the wall mounted monitor on:

  • On the LG remote control: press the red power button. The image will appear in about 15 seconds.
  • OR hit the power button on the underside of the TV's center.

To show the laptop image:

  • Attach your laptop to one of the cables provided, it should appear in a few seconds. If it does not, use the remote's input button (the cable looking one) to select HDMI 1. 

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:
    • Duplicate will make the local monitor and the projection screen have the same image.
    • Extended will make the local monitor and the projection screen have different images.

To show the Apple TV:

  • Use the Apple remote (silver metal) to turn on the Apple TV.
  • Use the LG remote to select HDMI 2, if it does not appear automatically.

When you are done:

  1. Disconnect your laptop from the HDMI cable OR turn off the Apple TV with the Apple remote's power button 
  2. Turn off the TV with the remote control's power button OR press and then press again and hold the power button on the underside of the center of the TV.

ENS 244 Meeting Room

To turn the wall mounted monitor on:

  • On the LG remote control: press the red power button. The image will appear in about 15 seconds.
  • OR hit the power button on the underside of the TV's center.

To show the Windows computer image:

  • Using the LG remote control, press the input button (cable/plug icon), and select the "PC HDMI 1" option.
  • If the computer is not on, then you can turn it on by pressing the circular power button on the front of the computer, located on top/behind of the TV.
  • Log in to the computer

To show the Apple TV image:

  • Using the LG remote control, press the input button (cable/plug icon), and select the "Apple OTT HDMI 2" option.
  • Using the Apple remote, press the power button if the device is not already on.
  • Use the Apple remote to control the Apple TV.

To duplicate or extend the computer image to the projector or TV:

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the letter P (Windows + P).
  2. A window will appear with 4 options. Select the option you wish to use:

  1. Turn on the document camera.
  2. Press the DOC CAM button. 

To black-out the screen:

  1. Press the AV MUTE button.
  2. To return to the image, press the AV MUTE button again. 

To use the lapel microphone:

  • To turn the microphone on or off, depress the buttons on each side of the belt pack, lift up to open the battery compartment, and then press the ON/OFF button. Close the battery compartment until you hear a click.
  • To control volume, press the "BLANK" button on the touch panel and then press either UP or DOWN arrows.
  • To mute the microphone, slide the switch on top to MUTE.
  • To unmute the microphone, slide the MUTE switch back to its original position. 
  • Note: If the microphone isn’t working, replace the batteries.

To play audio with the projector off:

  1. Press either the PC or LAPTOP button. 
  2. Play your audio.

When you are done:

  1. Log off the computer properly.
  2. Remove all USB devices, videotapes and discs from their appropriate places.
  3. Press the PROJ OFF button.
