General Help - Emma Campaign Help
Start a New Email
- From the Home screen in Emma, click the "Create a New Mailing" button
- Select the template, such as "Template 1"
- Click the "Untitled Mailing" text area at the top to name your mailing something meaningful -- this will only be visible to you, not your recipients
- The mailing auto-saves while you are in the editor, so you don't need to worry about losing your work
Adding a video to your email using the Video Block
- Upload to Youtube. Make it "Unlisted" if you don't want it to be findable through search or on your Youtube site.
- Click and drag the "Video Block" widget to your email canvas
- Enter the Youtube URL
- A thumbnail image will be automatically created and linked to the Youtube URL that you entered
- NOTE: videos are never actually embedded in an email due to the lack of support for that across email servers and clients
Add Text Block
- Drag the "Text Block" widget to your email canvas
- NOTE: When pasting from another source, it is best to paste plain text to avoid having strange styles included that may not perform well across email clients.
- Click the gear icon to adjust the "Margin", "Padding" or other settings. The default text blocks in the template have 0 margin and 0 padding.
Add Image with Text
- The "Right" and "Left" widgets contain an image (with optional caption) and a text block, pre-formatting with a heading
Send Test Email
- When you are ready to see what the email actually looks like in an email client, click the "Send Test" button
- Select 1-10 recipients
- Fill in the subject and pre-header text
- Click "Send Now"
- Review your email on your mobile device and in your desktop email client
- Edit your email and make needed adjustments
Send/Schedule Email
- Once you are happy with your test emails, it's time to send!
- Click "Review & Send"
- Choose your recipients (can be a group, a segment, etc.)
- Review your subject line and preheader text one more time
- Click "Send Now" to send immediately or "Schedule for later" to send it at a point in the future
- 24-hours after the email is sent, you will receive a summary email of how the email cmapaign performed
