Use Ensemble Videos
Many students need to record videos of presentations or PowerPoints. Students can use Ensemble Anthem to record videos and upload them to Canvas.
To start using Ensemble, complete the following steps:
- Navigate to media.cedarville.edu
- Click "Log in to Ensemble," and log in with your full Cedarville email address if prompted
Install and Start the Ensemble Anthem Software from the Plugin
After logging in, you will be prompted to install Ensemble Anthem in order to record a video.
Complete the following steps to install and run Ensemble Anthem:
- Click the "Record" button
- You will be asked to install Ensemble Anthem Screen Capture application. Ensure you choose either "Windosws" or "Mac"
- Click "Download" when prompted
- Exit out of the pop-up window and click record again
- Click "Open Ensemble Anthem"
- An Ensemble window will appear on your screen. Choose the recording method you prefer
Record and Upload a Video File Through the Plugin
Students may wish to record directly from Canvas. In order to so, click on the Ensemble icon in the discussion post toolbox in Canvas.
Complete the following steps to record and upload a video:
- In a discussion post, click on the Ensemble icon in the tool box
- Log in using your Cedarville credentials
- Click "record"
- Choose "Open Ensemble Anthem"
- Choose screen, screen and webcam, webcam, or voice
- Select the display you want and the area of the screen you wish to record
- Click "Record"
- When finished, pause the recording and click "Done"
- Review the recording, and click "Done" again
- Add a description and choose "Upload"
- The video should appear in the ensemble menu. Click "Choose" underneath the video you just created
- Click "Save"
- The video has now been saved to the discussion post
- Click the blue "Save" button to post
Select a Video from Ensemble Library to Embed in Canvas
Students may have already existing videos they wish to upload to Canvas. They can do this by uploading throught he Ensemble plugin.
Complete the following steps to select a video in Ensemble:
- In the discussion post, click on the Ensemble icon in the tool box bar above the text box
- Log in with your Cedarville credentials
- Click "Upload" to choose an already existing file
- The video should appear in the Ensemble menu. Click "Choose" underneath the video you want
- Click "Save"
- The video has now been saved to the discussion board
- Click the blue "Save" button to post
Use Canvas Media Tools
Students can also put media into Canvas directly without using Ensemble Anthem.
