📞Teams Phone Migration Overview

Our current phone system is end of life effective July 2026. Therefore, we are migrating to Microsoft Teams Phone.

This upgrade will provide greater flexibility, improved reliability, and seamless integration with the tools we already use every day.

What’s the Same

• Your campus extension and phone number will not change
• If you use a desk phone, it will continue to work (it will be reconfigured for Teams).

What’s New

• You’ll be able to call regular phone numbers outside Cedarville directly from Teams.
• Calls can be placed and received on your computer, mobile device, and desk phone.
• Voicemail will be accessible through Teams and will be transcribed and sent to your email.
• Common features like forwarding, transfer, and conferencing will be available within Teams.

1. Work From Anywhere – Make and receive calls using your Cedarville office number from your computer, tablet, or mobile device.
2. Everything in One Place – Chat, meet, call, and share files seamlessly within Microsoft Teams.
3. Smarter Voicemail – Read or listen to your voicemail directly in Teams — no dialing in or PIN codes.
4. Seamless Collaboration – Instantly share screens, chat, or files while on a Teams call.

Timeline and Next Steps

• Employees in the University Business Division have already been migrated as of December 1, 2025.
• All remaining employee telephone extensions will be transferred to Microsoft Teams on the morning of January 12, 2026, and will be ready for use that morning.
• Training guides and in-person sessions will be provided before the transition.
• No action is required from you right now — we’ll handle the setup.
• We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this change. Moving to Teams Phone will bring calling, meetings, and collaboration into a single platform, making it easier to connect both inside and outside the University!
