Cedarville Classifieds give students as well as faculty and staff a chance to buy, sell, and rent products and services online within the University. The service is open to anyone with a Cedarville login. To remove yourself from the daily classifieds email list, see the help page on how to manage email subscription lists.
Warning! When you post an ad, be aware that you may receive fraudulent replies. Use the Campus Directory to verify the identity of any replies you receive. See the help page on Phishing and Email Scams for more information.
There has been an increase in scammers targeting users on Cedarville University Classifieds.
Tactics scammers use include:
- Responding to your ad and arrange payment.
- Offering a certified check that includes an extra "mover's fee."
- Requesting personal information like your email and address.
- Asking for a tracking number and claim movers will pick up the item.
- Sending a check for more than the selling price, which will bounce after you've paid the movers.
Protect yourself by:
- Reporting any suspicious activity to Campus Security.
- Accepting only cash and insisting on in-person pickups.
- Trusting your instincts on offers that seem too good to be true.
