A PDF is a file format that is easy to share and looks the same for the person who receives it. You do not need Adobe Acrobat or any extra software to create one.
Save a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file as a PDF
- Open the file.
- Select File.
- Select Save As. In some versions, select Export instead.
- Choose where you want to save the PDF.
- Under File type or Save as type, choose PDF.
- Select Save or Publish.
Your PDF is now saved in the location you selected.
Save any printable file as a PDF on a Windows computer
- Open the file, picture, email, or webpage.
- Select File > Print. You can also press Ctrl + P.
- Under Printer, choose Microsoft Print to PDF.
- Select Print.
- Type a name for the PDF, choose where to save it, and select Save.
Save a file as a PDF on a Mac
- Open the file, picture, email, or webpage.
- Select File > Print. You can also press Command + P.
- Select the PDF button or menu at the bottom of the print window.
- Select Save as PDF.
- Type a name, choose where to save it, and select Save.
Save a webpage as a PDF
- Open the webpage in your browser.
- Press Ctrl + P on a Windows computer or Command + P on a Mac.
- Choose Save as PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF.
- Select Save, choose where to save the file, and select Save again.
