Microsoft Teams is a communication and collaboration platform integrated with OneDrive and Microsoft Office 365. Cedarville University Information Technology recommends it for intradepartmental communication and file sharing, as well as for text chat, voice and videoconferencing.
This article provides instructions for installing the Microsoft Teams application to your laptop or desktop. Microsoft teams is also available as a fully-functional web version (at https://teams.microsoft.com), and similar applications are also available for Android and iOS.
University-Provided Computers
Use the instructions below for installing the Microsoft Teams application on a University-provided computer.
- Start the CedarNet 2.0 application:
- Windows: Double-click the CedarNet 2.0 icon on your desktop (Windows), or search for and open "Software Center" using the Start Menu.
- MacOS: Search for "CedarNet" using the magnifying glass in the top right-hand corner of your screen, or Navigate to your Applications folder in Finder, and open the Cedarnet 2.0 application.
- Search for "Teams" using the provided search bar in CedarNet 2.0
- Click the Microsoft Teams icon, and the select "Install"
- The application will be installed. Your computer may reboot to complete the installation.
Once the application has been installed, it should launch automatically and prompt you for your email address. Enter your full Cedarville University email address, and follow the prompts to finish signing in.
If the program does not launch automatically, you can launch it from the following locations:
- Windows: Use the Start Menu to search for "Teams"
- MacOS: Use the magnifying glass in the upper right-hand corner of your screen to search for "Teams" or find the Microsoft Teams application in your Applications folder.
Personally-Owned Computers
Use the following instructions to install the Microsoft Teams application to a personally-owned MacOS or Windows computer:
- Download the Microsoft Teams Installer.
- Run the installer package and follow the prompts to install Teams.
You may need to provide an administrative username & password to complete the installation.
Once the application has been installed, it should launch automatically and prompt you for your email address. Enter your full Cedarville University email address, and follow the prompts to finish signing in.
