To watch YouTube videos without advertisements in Firefox:
- Go to Firefox
- Select the three lines in the upper right, then choose Add-ons and themes from the drop-down menu.
- With Extensions selected on the left side, type uBlock Origin in the search bar toward the top.
- Click Add to Firefox.
- Click Add in the pop-up that appears.
- Click Allow this extension to run in Private Windows in the pop-up that appears.
- Click Okay.
To watch YouTube videos without advertisements in Chrome:
- Go to Chrome
- Select the three dots in the upper right, then hover your mouse over More Tools and select Extensions.
- Select the three lines in the upper left, next to the Chrome icon, then select Open Chrome Web Store at the bottom of the side panel.
- In the search bar ("Search the store"), type uBlock Origin and select the matching result.
- Once selected, choose Add to Chrome.
- Click Add extension in the pop-up that appears.
- Close this tab and return to the previous tab ("chrome://extensions"), where you should now see a box that says "uBlock Origin"
- Click Details, then click the slider next to Allow in Incognito.
You can remove this extension at any time by going to uBlock and clicking "Remove." You can also toggle uBlock on and off by selecting the shield icon in the upper right of your browser. This shield, when active, will show a number next to it that indicates how many ads or malicious links were blocked on the current webpage.
*uBlock Origin is not available for use on Safari.
