If you have a Cedarville-provided Mac computer, there are a few upcoming updates relating to Jamf, our Mac management solution, as well as Self Service (which you might know as CedarNet 2.0). We are planning to deploy these changes on the morning of Thursday, February 5, 2026.
To maintain security compliance, we are updating Jamf Connect to version 3.5, which will change your login screen a little. Apple updated the login screen's look with MacOS Sequoia 15 and MacOS Tahoe 26, and the new version of Jamf Connect integrates with these changes.
The default login screen now looks like this:
The most notable change is that the icons to power off and restart your Mac are now located in the upper right next to the Wi-Fi icon. The local login button is also located in the upper right (the laptop icon) – if your device is not connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet, you can use this icon to log in locally with your username (without '@
cedarville.edu') and password.
The other notable change is to CedarNet 2.0. The new application will now be called Self Service+, and it looks like this:
The desktop icon for Self Service+ looks like this:
Self Service+ is replacing Self Service (also known as CedarNet 2.0) as it integrates with the Jamf Connect service, and the icon in your menu bar will change to reflect this:
These changes on Thursday, February 5 will happen automatically in the background on your computer. You won't need to restart your computer, though you may see a toast notification in the upper right. As always, if you have questions or run into issues after the upgrade, please email
techhelp@cedarville.edu, give us a call at 7905, or submit a ticket. We're always happy to help!
