Open the Student Employment Administrative System (SEAS), and click on the Departments link (https://www.cedarville.edu/cf/finaid/admin/index.cfm?menuMode=DEPARTMENTS).
Verify that the department for which hiring supervisor permission is to be granted is already present in SEAS, by clicking the "List of Departments" link. If not found, click the Add New link (https://www.cedarville.edu/cf/finaid/admin/deptform.cfm), and fill in the department name, department number, and an LDAP group name to be associated with this department record. Be sure to select an LDAP group in which the new hiring supervisor is (or can be) a member. Click the "Process" button to add the department record.
With SEAS open, click on the Supervisors link (https://www.cedarville.edu/cf/finaid/admin/index.cfm?menuMode=SUPERVISORS).
Verify that the staff or faculty member is not already a hiring supervisor in the department by clicking the "List of Supervisors" link, choose the desired department from the list, and click Get Department (https://www.cedarville.edu/cf/finaid/admin/supervisorslist.cfm).
To add the person as a hiring supervisor, click the Add New link (https://www.cedarville.edu/cf/finaid/admin/supervisorform.cfm) while in the Supervisors tab, select the desired department, enter the first name, last name, and the precisely-spelled network user name (a.k.a. Colleague login ID) for the person, and click the "Process" button.
NOTE: Do NOT use email address as the staff member's user name.
NOTE: Administrative access to the Student Employment Administrative System (SEAS) is required to complete this task.
NOTE: If access is still not available to the person after following these steps, verify that the person is a member of the LDAP group specified for the department.
(View the information at https://www.cedarville.edu/cf/finaid/admin/deptform.cfm?ID=nnnnnnnnnn, where "nnnnnnnnnn" is the ID assigned to the department within SEAS.)
NOTE: If a hiring supervisor reports missing options in the SEAS menu, ask them to restart SEAS in a new session / browser tab. If the user's session has timed out, some of the usual options may not appear to be available.
