Open File Security Warning

You may receive an "Open File - Security Warning" or "unknown publisher" error message when you try to run on-campus programs in CedarNet. Follow these instructions to fix this:

For Windows 10:

1. Type in "control panel" in "Search the web and Windows," located on the taskbar > Once the "Control Panel" option appears, press [Enter].
2. Click "Network and Internet" > Select "Internet Options."
3. Select the "Security" tab. 
4. Select "Local Intranet" > Click [Sites].
5. Uncheck the "Automatically detect intranet network" box.
6. Select [OK] > [OK].

For Windows 7:

1. Click [Start] > Choose "Control Panel." 
2. In the first column, click "Internet Options" > Select the "Security" tab.
3. Select "Local Intranet" > Click [Sites].
4. Uncheck the "Automatically detect intranet network" box.
5. Select [OK] > [OK].
