Email for Life

Cedarville University offers ongoing email services for former students and alumni!

  • Former Student:  A student who withdraws from the university having completed 1-20 credit hours of course work will be provided a former student account.

  • Alumnus/a: a student who has graduated from Cedarville University with an earned degree.

  • Non-graduate Alum – a degree-seeking student who has earned 20 or more credits but has not earned a degree from Cedarville University.

"Email for Life" (EFL) is not a forwarding service; this is an actual Gmail account at Cedarville.  There is no charge for EFL and other alumni may setup an EFL account using a simple myCU portal task. EFL is automatic and does not require any action unless the former student or alumnus/a does not have a Cedarville email account, in which case they must sign up for it via myCU.

Email for Life Quick Facts

You will use your current username as well as your CedarNet password. You may request a change to your username via myCU portal

  • Your email address can be reached at either of the following formats:
    • username@cedarville.edu
    • username@alumni.cedarville.edu
  • The emails you send will be sent from:
    • username@cedarville.edu

You may look up email addresses for alumni who have chosen to release their addresses by using the online alumni directory. Faculty and staff members may be found using Find a Person. You may want to go into the directory and make your own email address visible to others.

You can use the myCU portal to terminate your EFL account. You may re-activate your EFL account by returning to the myCU portal and searching for the "Access Email for Life" task; however, messages and calendar entries in your original account may be lost.

Note: Each EFL account comes with storage for both Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, both of which are subject to change. For more information and specific storage amounts, see our Network Account Management article.

  • You will no longer have access to any Adobe Creative Cloud products through Cedarville University.

Want to Deactivate your Email For Life?
