Connect to Google Workspace for Education from Mobile Device

You can access your Cedarville Google Mail account from your smartphone or tablet. This allows you to check your Cedarville email straight from your device. If you would like to use Google Workspace for Education on your mobile device, you must first connect your device to your Cedarville Google Mail account. 

Note: You can also access additional Google Workspace for Education apps, such as Google Drive and Google Docs, from your mobile device. From the app store, download any Google App on to your device and log in with your Cedarville Google account username and password.

To Connect to Google Mail From an iOS Device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch):

  1. On your iOs device, tap [Settings] > Select "Mail" > Tap [+ Add Account].
  2. From the resulting list, select "Google."
  3. In the "Email" filed, enter your full Cedarville email address (including @cedarville.edu). You will then be redirected to a Cedarville login page. 
  4. Enter your CedarNet username and password.
  5. Tap the right arrow or [Next] to proceed to the next page. 
  6. From the resulting list, choose the items you would like to sync to your iOS device. You can always edit these settings at a later time when you tap [Settings] > Select "Accounts & sync" > Select your Cedarville Google account. 
  7. In a few minutes, your device should receive the emails and calendar events synced from your Cedarville Google account. 

To Connect to Google Mail from an Android Device:

  1. On your Android device, tap [Settings] > Select "Accounts" > Tap [+Add] or [+Add Account].
  2. From the resulting list, select "Google."
  3. In the "Email" field, enter your full Cedarville email address (including @cedarville.edu). You will then be redirected to a Cedarville login page.
  4. Enter your CedarNet username and password. 
  5. Tap the right arrow or [Next] to proceed to the next page.
  6. From the resulting list, choose the items you would like to sync to your Android device. You can always edit these settings at a later time when you tap [Settings] > Select "Accounts & sync" > Select your Cedarville Google account. 
  7. In a few minutes, your device should receive the emails and calendar events synced from your Cedarville Google account. 

To Connect to Google Mail from a Windows Device:

To set up your Google Mail on a Windows device, you will first need to enable Google's 2-Step Verification for your Google Mail account. Once you enable this security feature, you will need to set up an App Password for Google to authorize your Windows device. You will only need to use this App Password upon the initial set up of your Google Mail account. If you cannot create an App Password, you may need to turn on access to less secure apps located at the bottom of your account's "Sign-in & security" page. 

  1. On your Windows device, swipe left to view your apps list.
  2. Tap [Settings] > [email + accounts] > [add an account] > [advanced setup].
  3. Enter your Cedarville email address and App Password, and then tap [Next]. 
  4. Tap [Exchange ActiveSync] > In the "Username" field, enter your Cedarville email address (leave the "Domain" field blank).
  5. In the "Server" field, enter m.google.com.
  6. Choose the amount of past days you would like Google to sync your messages from. 
  7. Choose the items you would like to sync to your Windows device. 
  8. Tap [Sign in]. 

To Activate Additional Google App Services for Android Devices:

Cedarville Google Workspace for Education offers some additional services for Android devices. From your personal computer, you can locate your device if lost, wipe your device remotely, and make your device ring. 

  1. On your Android device, open the [Google Play Store] app.
  2. In the search bar, search for "Device Policy" and install the "Google Apps Device Policy" app.
  3. Once installed, open the app and locate your Cedarville email address at the top of the screen. If it is not there, select your Cedarville email address from the drop-down menu. 
  4. Tap [Next] > Tap [Activate]. The device will then warn you of the policies that you are about to activate.
  5. Tap [Enforce]. The device will talk to Google's serves, and then you will receive confirmation that it is working or that the device was successfully synced.
  6. To access Google's Android services on your computer, open a browser and navigate to http://www.google.com/apps/mydevices.
