Identify Your Windows Version

When installing programs or receiving technical support, sometimes it is necessary to know which version of Windows you are running on your personal computer. For more information, see the Visual Representation (PDF).

To Identify Your Version:

  1. In the lower left bottom of your screen, click the Windows [Start] button.
  2. Right-click "Computer" from the Start menu (in Windows 10, select "File Explorer" > Right-click "This PC").
  3. Select "Properties."
  4. Locate the version system information (e.g. 64-bit) under the "System" section. Locate the version edition information (e.g. Windows 7) under the "Windows edition" section (see the attached PDF).
