Find MAC Address on your Device

During the manual registration process, you will be asked to provide the MAC address of your device. You must provide this address to complete the process and register your device for use on CedarNet. Find your device on this help page for specific instructions on how to find your MAC address.

To Find MAC Address on an Amazon Kindle:

  1. Press the "Menu" button.
  2. Use the 5-way controller to underline "Settings" > Press "Select."
  3. Under "Device Info/Options," you will see an entry for Wi-Fi MAC Address.

To Find MAC Address on an Amazon Echo:

  1. Open the Amazon Echo "Alexa" app on your smartphone device. 
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen until you see the MAC Address. 

To Find MAC Address on an Amazon Fire TV Stick/Puck:

  1. From the Fire TV Stick/Puck Home screen,  select "Settings."
  2. Select "System" > "About" > "Network." 

To Find MAC Address on an Android-based Device:

  1. Press “Menu” on the home screen > Select the “Settings" app.
  2. Select “Wireless & Networks.”
  3. Check the box marked “Wi-Fi” to ensure that wireless is turned on.
  4. Press “Back” > Select “About Phone” status or "About Tablet" status at the bottom of the list.
  5. You may need to select “Hardware Information/Status.”
  6. You will see the MAC address displayed in the field labeled “Wi-Fi MAC Address.”

To Find MAC Address on a Blackberry:

  1. Select “Options” from the home screen.
  2. Select “Status.”
  3. You will see the MAC address displayed in the field labeled “WLAN MAC.”

To Find MAC Address on a Chromebook: 

  1. Click on the Network and Settings window on your tray (where it shows the time, battery, avatar, etc.).
  2. Click on the WiFi section to see network details.
  3. Click on the “i” button in the bottom-right corner, and your MAC address will be displayed.

To Find MAC Address on an iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch:

  1. Select “Settings” from the home screen.
  2. Select the “General” option.
  3. Select the “About” option.
  4. You will see the MAC address displayed in the field labeled “Wi-Fi Address.”

To Find MAC Address on a Nook:

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. On the Home menu, tap "Settings."
  3. Find the entry for "MAC Address."

To Find MAC Address on a Nookcolor:

  1. Tap the Nav Arrow at the bottom of the screen to display the Quick Nav Bar > Tap "Settings."
  2. Tap "Device Info" > "About Your NOOKcolor."
  3. Find the entry for "MAC Address."

To Find MAC Address on a Palm webOS Device (i.e. Palm Pre):

  1. Select “Device Info” from the Launcher.
  2. Select “More Info” > Select the “Hardware” tab.
  3. This screen displays the MAC address.

To Find MAC Address on a PlayStation Portable (PSP)

  1. Select “Settings” from the home screen.
  2. Select “System Settings” > Select “System Information.”
  3. This screen displays the MAC address.

To Find MAC Address on a Wired Xbox 360:

  1. Select “System” from the Xbox Dashboard.
  2. Select “Network Settings.”
  3. Select “Edit Settings.”
  4. Select “Additional Settings.”
  5. Select “Advanced Settings.”
  6. Look for the heading titled “Wired MAC Address.”
  7. This screen displays the MAC address.

To Find MAC Address on a Wireless Xbox 360:

  1. Select “System” from the Xbox Dashboard.
  2. Select “Network Settings.”
  3. Select “Edit Settings.”
  4. Select “Additional Settings.”
  5. Select “Advanced Settings.”
  6. Select “Wireless Information.”
  7. This screen will display the MAC address.

To Find MAC Address on a New NXE Display:

  1. Go to “My Xbox” on the Xbox Dashboard.
  2. Select “System Settings” all the way to the right.
  3. Select “Network Settings.”
  4. Select “Configure Network.”
  5. Under the “Basic Settings” tab, make sure IP Settings is on Automatic.
  6. Go to the “Additional Settings” tab.
  7. Select “Advanced Settings.”
  8. The MAC address is displayed on this screen below the heading “Wired MAC Address.”

To Find MAC Address on a Xbox (Wired):

  1. Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the disc tray.
  2. Choose “Xbox Live” from the Xbox Dashboard.
  3. Select “Settings” from the “Connect Status” screen.
  4. You will see the MAC address displayed in the bottom right corner of the “Network Settings” screen.

To Find MAC Address on an Apple TV:

  1. From the main menu on your Apple TV, select "Settings" > "About."
  2. You will see your MAC Address under either "Wireless ID," "Ethernet ID," or "Wi-Fi Address."

To Find MAC Address on a Google Home:

  1. Open the "Google Home" app on your smartphone device. 
  2. In the upper-right corner of the screen, tap the [Menu] icon (3 dots). 
  3. In the resulting menu, select "Settings."
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen until you see your MAC Address. 

To Find MAC Address on a Windows Phone/Device:

Note: If you have a Windows Surface RT, ignore these instructions and bring the device to TechStop for assistance.

  1. Make sure your Wi-Fi is enabled.
  2. Select “Start” > “Settings.”
  3. Select “Connections” > “Wireless LAN.”
  4. Select the “Advanced” tab.
  5. You will see the MAC address displayed in the “MAC” field.
