CedarPrint: Set Up Google Cloud Print for Mobile Devices

Note: Google Cloud Print is set to be retired by Google on December 31, 2020. After this date, Google Cloud Print will no longer work for CedarPrint.  To use CedarPrint on Android devices, please see our instructions for Android and Chrome (including Chromebooks)

Google Cloud Print enables you to send documents to CedarPrint directly from your mobile device anywhere on or off campus, as well as from a personal laptop or University computer. You can also print double-sided documents. A few of the apps that Cloud Print is compatible with are Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Docs, and Google Chrome.

This help page explains how to set up Google Cloud Print on a variety of mobile devices. If you have already installed Google Cloud Print, learn how to print using Google Cloud Print

Set up Cloud Print on Android 4.4+:

  1. Open the Settings app > Accounts.
  2. Tap "Add Account" > Google.
  3. Type your full @cedarville.edu at the prompt. You will be redirected to a Cedarville sign-in page.
  4. Sign in at the Cedarville signin page using your CedarNet username and password. 
  5. Since Google Cloud Print is integrated into the Android 4.4+ software, you'll now be able to print to Google Cloud Print from any Android app that allows printing.

Set up Cloud Print on Chrome OS:

Option 1: If you already use a @gmail.com user account on your Chromebook

  1. From any Google App page (like Gmail), click your profile picture to the upper right, and click "Add Account"
  2. Enter your cedarville.edu email address in the "Email or Phone" field and click "Next"
  3. Sign in using your CedarNet username & password. 
  4. Navigate to any webpage or document that you can open in Google Chrome.
  5. Click the menu button (three lines at the top-right corner).
  6. Click "Print."
  7. Under "Destination," click "Change."
  8. From the drop-down labelled "Showing Destinations For" choose your cedarville email address.
  9. Select "CedarPrint"
  10. Click "Print."

Option 2: If you'd like to sign into your Chromebook using your Cedarville.edu account

  1. Go to the main login screen on your Chromebook by logging out of any accounts that are logged in.
  2. Click "Add Person" 
  3. Enter your cedarville.edu email address in the "Email or Phone" field and click "Next"
  4. Sign in using your CedarNet username & password
  5. Once your new chromebook account has been created and you're at your desktop, open Chrome
  6. Navigate to any webpage or document that you can open in Google Chrome.
  7. Click the menu button (three lines at the top-right corner).
  8. Click "Print."
  9. Under "Destination," click "Change."
  10. Select "CedarPrint"
  11. Click "Print."

Set Up Cloud Print on Google Apps in iOS:

  1. Download any Google app (GmailGoogle SheetsGoogle SlidesGoogle Docs, and Google Chrome) onto your mobile device. 
  2. Sign in to the Google App using your full @cedarville.edu email and password.
  3. Printing is now available from that app to CedarPrint via Google Cloud Print

Set up Cloud Print on Chrome in iOS:

  1. From a web page in Chrome, tap the menu button (three vertical dots).
  2. Tap "Settings."
  3. Tap "Sign Into Chrome."
    • If you are already signed into your Cedarville Google account through IOS, you can simply tap your account.
    • If you are not already signed in, you will have enter your full @cedarville.edu email at the Google sign in page and then sign in again using your CedarNet username and password at the Cedarville sign in page.
  4. Once you are signed into Chrome, you will be able to print to CedarPrint via Google Cloud Print from any tab in Chrome. 

To Set up Cloud Print on a Laptop or Desktop Using Google Chrome:

Note: You can follow the instructions below on any computer with Chrome installed to print to CedarPrint with no installation required.
If you don't have Google Chrome installed, you can install it here.

  1. Open a new tab and go to cedarville.edu/google.
  2. Sign in to your Cedarville Gmail account.
  3. Navigate to any webpage or document that you can open in Google Chrome.
  4. Click the menu button (three lines at the top-right corner).
  5. Click "Print."
  6. Under "Destination," click "Change."
  7. From the drop-down labelled "Showing Destinations For" choose your cedarville email address.
  8. Select "CedarPrint"
  9. Click "Print."
