Mac password doesn't match CedarNet password

Information Technology is actively working to sync local Mac user accounts with the Cedarville University network logins. Unfortunately, IT does not presently have a working solution for this issue. As a result, users can manually update the saved passwords on University-owned Mac computers to use their current password for signing in. Students, faculty, and staff can follow the steps below to make the change:

Note: You will need to know your old CedarNet password for the following process.
  1. Sign into the University-owned Mac computer using your old password.
  2. Open System Preferences.
  3. Select Users & Groups.
  4. Look for your name in the middle of the screen. Select Change Password...
  5. Enter your old password followed by your new password twice.
  6. Select Change Password.

You can verify this change worked by logging out and signing in again:

  1. In the top left corner of the screen, select the Apple logo ().
  2. Select Log Out (your name)...
  3. Sign into the computer using your new password.
If you do not remember your old CedarNet password, please submit a ServeCU request under Classroom & Labs: Ask for Help / Report a Problem. A technician will be able to use an administrator account to bypass the old password prompt.
